Luncheon With Richicbucto Rug Hookers & Fall Decorating

Tne Richibucto Rug Hookers host our Miramichi Rug Hookers to a fall luncheon & as you may remember we host them in the spring. Both events are anticipated by fellow hookers for an afternoon of laughter & sharing of rug hooking.

Here is a sampling of rug hooking on display from both groups.

                                                                This one is a favourite!

Fall & winter are on our minds these days & it is showing up in the finished work too!

There are several weavers from our Miramichi group & their work is just gorgeous!

The room was abuzz with chatter as each worked on their project at hand.
The room was full as both our groups are growing with members.

It was great seeing everyone again & meeting new members too!

It sure was a fun day had by all!

Everyone working on a different project with some knitting, weaving, hooking, or just socializing!

The room was alive that day!

Then it was time for our luncheon, wow what a luncheon it was! I had several servings of a delicious dessert made with marshmallows, pineapple, coconut, & oranges & was it good!!

Our Betty won the door prize!

                                     A Richibucto winner - I should've gotten their names!
 Another Richibucto winner...

And Bernice with her basket, this is one fellow hooker that I adore her work, she is so talented!

                                                                   Our excited Shelia!

Marsha from the Richibucto group, I loved her beautiful handwoven jacket's colour & textures!

                                                          Marva won a basket too!

Minnie, our newest member, won a basket too!

                                                         And Peggy won a basket!

It was a fun day had by all! We'll get together again next year in the spring of 2019!

Thanksgiving Decorating

This weekend Bill will be arriving with our Alberta kids & the Brampton ON kids, absent are our London kids but they were here just last month & it is hard to travel this far. Maybe next year.
I found Dad's turkey that I made him decades ago as I'm still unpacking boxes & it looks great on the table inside the dough bowl with the fall leaves.

I just love this piece that I did with Liz, I miss that woman so much & have fond memories of her.

I did a collection of fall decor on the brick side of the kitchen. The small hanger was made by Bev for my birthday one year, a sweet piece!

With the cooler weather, I love the smell of an apple pie in the oven & made this one.

I use my pie birds for the shelled pies to release the steam from the inside, what a smart idea as this is a vintage bird & most people don't use them anymore.

This is a fun piece I made a few years back, it reminds me of my mom. She has had four strokes & dementia & seems happy just like playing with the fairies.

This was a fun piece that I did with only the applique pattern pieces & a picture. I added dimensional pieces to add interest like the leaves & corn handles from cob on the corn holders.

Thank you for visiting this week before Thanksgiving & I hope you have a wonderful week & a
Happy Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for!

Wishing you the very best wherever you are!
Cynthia
