Potting Shed Update :)

The potting shed has been taking up my time these days & the inside is now done with the first coat of paint. I'm hoping the second coat will not be as bad as the first one.
Then the floor will be painted with a Canadian Tire Brick Grey floor paint & then it will be stencilled
in black with a varnish clear to finish it off!
I'm taking the time now as it will never be done again once the 'items' are moved in & the countertop is installed. I know from hindsight of the sewing studio that I had in London. lol

I painted for several hours yesterday when it was cool. The potting shed gets very hot on hot, humid days, yesterday was perfect!

It's only one coat of paint, however, it looks so much brighter & better than the original chipboard.

See how dark the ceiling area looks? The finish is going to look even better with the second coat!

This is how my day ended yesterday, just shy of finishing the front laneway sidewall, so close too!
There are three different gallon pail paints in three different white colours. The second & final coat will make everything one shade of white!

All the garden tools were removed from the wall & are in the center of the 12' x 20' floor space.

This cupboard was in the old garage at the cottage on Eel River. Bill removed it from the potting shed wall for me to paint & once I saw it upside down...
The cupboard took on a whole new look!
I'm going to paint it with some chalk paint & leave it on the stencilled floor, it looks like a primitive dry sink & will be functional & add character to the room.

The raised garden boxes are awaiting the plants, we still have frost for another week or two.
Bill planted some radish & carrot seeds & they're doing OK so far.

The view from the planting boxes, can you see the bald eagle in the middle of the photo?

The drainage ditch was made deeper this spring to allow water to flow off our property, these days when it rains it pours & needs drainage to stop flooding the lawns.

The Anniversary Garden just steps away from the potting shed & vegetable garden, that is good because that is where the hose for watering is located.

I have brought some of the outside garden flowers inside to enjoy!

Bill was busy installing the green shutters from a property we had in London, they fit perfectly!

And the window box from the Cottage on Eel River fits too! The window boxes were a find at the Blackville Community Center yard sale about 10 yrs ago!

How great is that for bringing together things from yesteryears?!
And the forsythia bush is now done flowering & next year will look even better next to the Midnight Surf coloured siding!

This potting shed has really come together & is going to be one of my favourite spots to work from!

And to get good things to eat from too!

Bill has since installed the back window with green shutters too!
We had two shutter sets on the London house & the new windows were too large for them, they moved here with us & I'm very glad they did!

The cedar wood colour really warms the front of the potting shed up.

The old black wrought iron railings are from a job site nearly 30 years ago, the work perfectly on this small deck! Bill goes on about me saving everything, I'm glad that he too does the same!

The cement robin that we purchased from Louis at Open Door Antiques, sits on the deck & does not fly away as it's grounded being cement!

The leftover vinyl pieces worked well to close the small porch area in too, looks great Bill, thank you!

The potting sheds new location looks at home here.

Bill's new garage/shop area is taking on its own look too! He's been working gravel stone around the stone garden wall that is at the front & side of the sunny area. Looking good Bill!
The large window box will soon be installed too & the red geraniums will go outside once the frost has left our area, next week maybe.

Bridget & Baxter now have a new 5' pool to cool off in & to get cleaned up in. The 3' pool with duct tape repairs has been retired, they love their new pool!

We walked on the beach at low tide & gathered up some shells from the beach.

Block # 8 is now done... with block # 10 being released today! I really have to get my head in the game again, we're so close to the finish of this Christmas Carol Mystery quilt.

With our nights being so cool & days being so busy, Baxter cuddles into the wingback with Nick's borg blanket.

We spend our evenings in the great room & he's such a pack animal & also wants to be sure he knows where Bill is! lol

Look at how fast these plants have grown!

The flower buds are going to explode this year!

The bright pink peonies are awaiting their show time too!

The gardens are thickening & budding!

Even the wee clematis has sprung up!

I'm hoping that it makes its way to the top of the trellis this year!

The white & pink bleeding hearts are in full bloom too!

I roped in the rose bush as it is greening & growing at a rapid pace too!

The lupins are up & budding, I love these maritime flowers!

And the limelight no longer look like sticks, look at how lush they are!

Well, that's about it for now, I'm glad you took the time to visit & see what we're up to with the potting shed. The area is turning into summer so fast, it is a quick season here so let us savour it!

Take care & be safe during this very unsettled time in our world right now.

Visit a garden, a garden is a friend that you can visit at any time, even on your computer through YouTube. I've been watching so much YouTube these days on how to do things or just get ideas on different projects that I'm thinking about.
Give it try for things you are interested in & looks good to you!
