I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I use to know...

We still have unusual weather with no snow & since it warmed up to above 0 celsius any snow that did come in has all left.

The nice thing about rain is that you don't have to shovel it!

It sure is Christmas on the inside & in 11 days everyone will start to arrive for a family Christmas together.

The weather can change from one day to the next so for now, I'm glad I'm not having to shovel the porch off. lol

The Christmas Village is the only feel of snow right now!

Bill gave the vintage sleigh a new coat of red paint on the top, replacing the white that was there.
He also painted the sled's metal bottom sleds with black replacing the red that was there!
I love the outcome!

Years ago on our England trip to Newcastle England, we stopped at a DIY store & I purchased wooden medallions. Bill installed them on the sleigh, here are two back creating a long linear line & adding an interesting detail to the sides!

The one large one was added to the back of the sleigh. This year the sleigh is going to hold our Christmas gifts as the big tree is not in the great room this year.

Christmas Baking ~~~~~~~~~~~

The rumballs have been made!

Bill sampled a couple last night & said they were delicious!

He said they were softer this year & I had not made any with walnuts because of his allergy but some will be rolled in the walnuts that will be given as Christmas goodie gifts.

I made a nice mess of this area in the kitchen with the cocoa powder & icing sugar powder flying. around. These rumballs also have a piece of a rum-marinated maraschino cherry inside!

The southwest corner of the great room is decorated awaiting the kids to come home.

It's full of memories of Christmas past & has the Jim Shore collection in the cabinet & the big Jim Shore Santa above it.

The stockings are beginning to gather,  more will arrive in the kid's suitcases to be hung to the bannister.
Bill even put a garland around the orb light for the festivities to come!

I didn't get the picture filled with the Christmas tree pattern from Edyta Sitar this year...next year!

The kitchen pantry even has Christmas pulled into it!

It's where you will find appliances that work better in that room than the countertop in the kitchen.

The Charli Brown Christmas hanging is done!
Bill loves his & one of his zoom people asked if he had a 'curtain' for different events. You can tell he is not related to any quilter! lol

It was a lot of work to put together & I'm so pleased with the outcome of this wallhanging that brings back so many wonderful childhood memories of these characters.

The foyer has a warm feeling to it with the gold apples & red poinsettias.

I'm enjoying the decorating process for the family to enjoy when they come home.
Christmas day is only 18 days away now!!

I'll post with photos of the upstairs next post!

Thank you for popping in for a visit & I'm wishing you the spirit of this festive season!
Wishing you the very best it has to offer.
Stay safe, wear your mask!

Cynthia
