Frilly Scarf

I was shown how to make the 'Frilly Scarf' last week & tried it today with much success. What fun knitting with just 6 stitches & creating something so intricate looking, with the garter stitch!

A woman from P.E.I. & now living in Ontario, invited me to a rug hooking group tonight, to see if I like it. I'm curious to see this group & what they're doing...let you know more later.

  1. Hi Cynthia, I'm excited for you that you are trying out hooking. I'm sure that you'll love it as you are so creative with your hands.

Oh yes, that little outhouse was scary to me too. I wasn't afraid to fall in because we had a small hole for the smaller kids but I was afraid of the big blue flies that I could hear at the bottom. My parents would put some lime to cut the bad odor and keep the flies at bay.
You are right, that was a little Dick and Jane book. How I love that book. I could read before I went to school and my mother tongue is french. I learned to read English in my sister's Dick and Jane book.

    To answer your question:
The baby boy calves are usually called bob calves but I call the bull. The girl baby calves are called heifers. They will be called heifers until they calve and then become cows because they give milk after the baby calf is born.
    Stay warm and happy,
    Hugs,
    JB

Did you know that a bull is old enough to use for breeding purposes when he's only one year old? They grow fast. A heifer is usually bread at 800 pounds or around 16 month of age and will calve at 24 months. She can get pregnant before that but she is immature and it's not good for her.
