The Roof Begins

I stopped by yesterday to see the changes that Francis & I agreed upon. The master bedroom was just too small & needed more room. We decided that the office could be made smaller, the exercise room made more square, & the hallway at the end of end of these rooms be eliminated.
It is looking great!!
The roof is going on the garage & the weather has been hot & humid - lucky with the shore breeze!

Inside the garage the doorway to the foyer & the elevator opening are taking shape.

The hallway is framed up, at the end is where the master bedroom door where be.

The two hallway closets have been framed up & the sewing studio & exercise room have door frames!

The shore side is getting the roof frame & is becoming more interesting to look at.

See the different elevations on the roof? Funky eh?!!
The window in the exercise room is starting to show its shape, it's in the middle. The office window on the left of it & the sewing studio on the right of that unique window.

This is the garage back & the laundry room. The porch, off the laundry room,  has the footing pounded in & the garage roof is now on! It will be finished with a steel roof.

This is the pile of trees that were cut, including that beautiful maple tree!

Bill & the boys will have to put the wood spliter & mulcher to work this fall.

Lots of wood framing materials, awaiting to be placed on the new addition.

There's dirt every where & lucky for everyone the rain has held off, it's so mucky around the work areas, with the rain.

The upstairs windows from the bedrooms have been removed & boarded up, awaiting to be joined to the addition & the windows installed in the new part too!

I take my photos after everyone goes home. This is a bee hive of activity during the day.

The main entrance has a ramp to get in & out of the new addition. I'll be happy when the stairs are installed...in any of the openings! lol The bay window in my sewing room waits patiently for the right time to have it installed.

This photo shoot sure has had a lot of production done to it, from the last weeks work!
The electric pole has been moved & the telephone is now moved & installed for the neighbours too. We were able to have ours installed underground, creating a very clean look to the house & nothing for ice to hang on to this winter.

It was nice of you to stop by & see the addition progress.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Cynthia, your house is going to look great. I can't wait to see it all finished and decorated.
This has been my busiest summer ever. I'm pretty worn out and not much time to read blogs. Keep up the good work.
    Hugs,
    JB
