The sights & sounds of spring turning the corner into summer are now upon us.
I saw a hummingbird at the feeder yesterday! They are such a precious beautiful little bird!
I'm finally caught up on the Wild & Wonderful BOW (block-of-the-week) & it was a hummingbird, then I saw ours at the feeder! It made my heart sing.
Block Six & I'm now caught up!Block Three - Down by the Lily Pond designed by Susan W. Davis of Aunt Susie's House.
A Deanna Fitzpatrick posting on making a 'Hug Rug' mail out to those that need a hug & they are functional as they are washable coasters!
I purchased PDF patterns in the round for an idea I had... to use large tin lids in the center to give them shape & make a bunting banner for the potting shed.
I'm enjoying the new Pfaff 720 sewing machine to stitch the wool down & the simplicity of what buttons/beadwork do to a project.
I will encase the inner tin lid with batting that I've glued to the lid to add a softness to the wool.
I think they are going to look stunning stung up with the white walls in the potting shed, adding a whimsical primitive feel to the area.
Rexton loves to have the couch in the afternoon as the sun floods the great room. This is so sweet seeing that Baxter wants to share the area with her. I know she misses Boris (RIP) as those two would spoon together if they were sharing the fireplace, firebox, or sunshine, if it was warm those two were together.
I made this on Mother's Day, it was a pattern tutorial on Susie's Scraps blog. I used scraps from my pink/red stash & Namama's doily.
It is a twelve-day quilt along & in the end, you have a quilt!
Block Day One - all blocks are 4 1/2" in size.
The first day only had you make 4 blocks! You know there's more to come...
Today is Block Day Three & I have now looked at that post. When I'm done posting I will get busy with picking out from my stash some more blue/white fabric. The Blue Willow/cobalt blue/white antique dishes are my colour design inspiration.
It has been wonderful having Bill work from home & having him home in the evenings is such an added bonus. He is always helping me out & here he is again unravelling the knotted mess of t-shirt yarn so I can crochet another rug with it.
The job was a puzzling one but in the end, he did it! Now to finish what I started with the crochet hook!
Thank you Cecile for gifting me with such a wonderful upcycling for me from your weaving days!
The rug has a real nautical feel to it with the red/white/navy/green colours.
The Mr. Boots rug is now finished! I need to give it a good hot steaming, which I want to do outside as it is 100% wool & steaming it gives a smell of wet sheep but for now Bridget has claimed it as her spot
Bridget loves to chew on her toys before nighttime, she's such a sweet little Boston.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit, I hope you too are enjoying the wonderful sights & sounds of spring as we transition into summer I'm dreading the mosquitoes & black flies that will grace us with their appearance very soon. Until then I'll take in the wonderful bug-free days!
I'll be getting my vaccine tomorrow!
Cynthia
