Spring Has Arrived - No Snow!

Yes, the snow has finally bid a due, gone for now with the coming of summer just around the corner.
The sunny days are so warm that Bridget & Baxter, our Boston terriers have their pool to cool off in after heating with their games of chase the stick or ball.
The potting shed got moved too! Just before the snowstorm that day, giving me the opportunity to see what it will look like covered in snow. lol

It all began with Francis & Bill with the open trailer...

 Up went the potting shed!

Up higher onto the back of the trailer.

The gardens had all been relocated & are now growing next to Bill's shop which can now be viewed from the front porch!

This is the area that it was relocated to & the Forsythia is awaiting to be planted.

We marked out where the potting shed was to go with these markers.

Now to get the back end of the potting shed up! Home Hardware's forklift for lifting shingles was perfect for the job!

There was a lot of creaking going on with this potting shed being moved for the third time since Mitchell originally built it for me back in 2013 to house my gardening tools.

The view from the great room window is one of a view of the wee potting shed now.

The round area of hen & chicks was where the cement birdbath would go, it is now going to be viewed from the dining room window. A better place as the hose is close by to keep it clean & filled during the hot summer months.

It is also in close proximity to the back deck too!

Bill's going to construct an 8' front porch to the door & window area & a ramp for the overhead door.
A vegetable garden will be placed close by as we attempt our first time growing veggies in a raised garden of cedar boxes.

Sewing Projects Completed!

Christmas Carol Mystery Quilt - Block # 5

Block #6 - Halfway done now!

The 'Spring' wallhanging hs now been quilted, thank you, Rose! And the binding with the black/white check on the bias, really gives it a nice fresh country feel to it.

Rose, our neighbourhood longarm quilter is being kept busy with my UFO's getting completed.
The great thing is I never leave the village of Hardwicke to get my work done. Rose lives up the road! lol
This is called Grace's Quilt & is done in 30's reproduction fabrics.

 It is such a simple two-block quilt with a nine-patch & a snowball alternating!

Rexton the Manx photo bombing my pics, she is always shadowing me.

The Poisy pattern looks great on this quilt!

Then I finished Kathleen Tracey's Mystery Quilt 2018 & made it into a bistro topper for the new potting shed!

It was made reversible with a fresh green & geraniums large four-patch!

The Poisy pattern was quilted onto this one too, I love it!

It has such a summer feel to it with the Elenor Burns rose fabric border. I can't wait to see it on the bistro table that will be on the small porch of the potting shed!

Cozy Surprise!

The weather here is still cool as the water is only 2C right now & it takes time for it to warm up.
The firebox takes the damp coolness out of the room & is a popular spot with the pets.
It is usually Boston terrier hot spot...

And then Rexton wanted in on that cozy spot & refused to move when Baxter wanted on his pillow.

The two just ignored each other & settled in. It flooded so many memories of the love between Boris & Rexton several years back, when they use to spoon together in front of the firebox.
Bridget just goes into her crate to sleep when she's tired but not Baxter, he stays with us until it's his bedtime around 8pm then he needs to be 'tucked in' & will settle for the night.
It made my heart sing for Rexton to have this time with Baxter.

And then another night they did it again! So nice to see 'You've gotta friend in me' with these two!

Thank you for stopping by this week. I hope your COVID Days are ones that make you stop & enjoy the simple acts & things that are happening in this slower-paced time.
I am so enjoying having Bill home with me & with no family here we are our own 'bubble family'  as New Brunswick is beginning to open up within its borders.

Stay safe.
Cynthia
