Hello and I'm finally here to greet you with your visit here in the Atlantic NE village that we live in and love so much! The weather has been warm to hot & humid and summer has just begun.
Bill is out every morning to water the gardens & new transplants that have been put in. It looks so lovely when you do a walk about, let's go!
This is the view from the dining area at the beginning of June.
This is a close-up view from the front porch. Thank you Nick & Leslie for the cement fixtures. It's so had to keep seasonal things nice with the harshness that comes from living next to the Atlantic saltwater.
The limelight hydrangeas are now past the railings! It's amazing haw fast things grow once the earth warms up from the ice/snow from the winter season.
The Anniversary Garden has taken on a life of its own and the weeds sure do follow suit with them too!
Mowing of the back lawn has been a weekly chore for Bill but he is loving the zero-turn lawn mower for that!
I'm surprised at how these two trees that Mitchell & I planted over a decade ago have grown and at different speeds and both are healthy!
The back deck is now enjoyable and the sun can be a bit like an oven heating you if you stay out too long!
The daylilies from the Thames River area in London ON are doing well outside the dining window and are late blooms.
One of my favourite blooming flowers is the lily-of-the-valley, Bill planted some right where I hang the laundry & the fragrance is heavenly! They have come & gone now for another year, summer does move fast with the blooming succession.
Bill put up an arbour next to the small laundry porch, it's the same as the one in the Anniversary Garden, one on each side of the house giving it wings that both view the water in the Miramichi Bay!
Namama (Bill's Hungarian Grandma) had this tree in her backyard & we wanted two in ours! Thanks to Lynn for harvesting them for us, they too are growing strong.
This is our garden area, we are not very good but will give it a try with zucchini, tomatoes, and a pepper. This was 2 weeks ago, I'll post more pics when they really start to grow!
This is the climbing hydrangea from Heather the avid grower, she said it takes time for them to grow their roots and now it has finally taken off & has begun to flower for the first time!
And the wooly moss that Heather gave me has also taken to flowering this year!!
Here is the wooly moss next to the boulder, how exciting to see these first time blooms!
The lilac tree next to the roses on each side of the arbour have given a strong wonderfully sweet smell to the salt air! Here is the other arbour at the other side of the house.
The lilac tree will have more room since the pom- pom bush was moved to the apartment & has since flowered when the lilac tree there flowered.
Iris, lupine, bleeding hearts, peonies, hydrangea & other flowering plants are are doing their show in the garden that has the best sun!
The Gnome Home garden of tulips have come & gone & this area has not been put back together, next post I'll show you how it gets dressed up!
I brought in some of the tulips & when they opened they looked more like poppies!
The new additions! More Reba aka Rhode Island Red hens!
These girls were 19 weeks old on June 20th when we got them.
They stay together from Henny & the Reba's as they're top in the pecking order & let them know it!
They still don't settle in properly in the evening without Bill going into the coop to settle them, soon I hope it will be like they were always here.
The back deck evening sunsets are back & beautiful! You know what the next day will be looking at it, another line drying laundry day! lol
The Parkade Garage has started...
The foundation for the frost wall has been dug out, now just waiting on the cement contractor to begin.
It look odd to see a square with a ditch around it but it will make the garage walls stable & ground solid.
Bill making the laneway neat again to get the width back. Next week I'll take photos of the townhomes area, goodness that's going to be spectacular, when finished! But right now it's just been cleared & getting the ground ready for its very large foundation.
Sewing is going slow...life does have a way of getting into our hobbies. lol
Christopher Robin is now done!
And the quilt assembly has begun with nine more clouds to make, three more honey pot, some bees, & the fillers that will bring them all together! This truly has been a labour of love for Liam.
Liam is now pulling himself up to stand, I'm so grateful to see these moment via Facebook, he's so precious to us.
Liam is so familiar to us too. lol He is learning to feel the outside for the first time & has now gotten use to the feel of grass. lol
Just to do something different, I did the 4 installment blocks from Buttermilk Design that were done in a 4th of July USA style & made mine Canadian. I added some bees instead of the black crow & put a lace tablemat down for the pot.
It makes a great Canada Day pillow on the woodland bench in the dining area.

Well, I have Bridget wanting my attention and I really must get busy as today is sunny & it will be raining all day tomorrow, making it a 'sew day'. I think I will take to the 100 Acre Woods & begin to put it together, I'll take pics to share with you!
